You've spent years learning your day scope — its reticle, its clicks, its zero. A thermal clip-on means you don't throw any of that away. The Pixfra Taurus mounts on the objective of your existing riflescope at a true 1×, so your magnification, your reticle and your point of impact stay exactly where they were. By day you run your glass as normal; after dark you clip the Taurus on the front and the same rifle now sees heat.

Pixfra is one of the few brands in the world that designs and manufactures its own thermal sensor cores — which is what lets it put a genuinely fine detector and honest features into a clip-on at a sensible price. The Taurus comes in two forms: the T435 with a 384 sensor for the value-minded, and the T635-LRF with a 640 sensor, a wider field of view and a 1,000 m laser rangefinder built in. Both include a Bluetooth remote, so every setting changes without you ever breaking your cheek weld.

A dedicated thermal scope means a second optic, a second zero and a reticle you have to re-learn. A clip-on doesn't. The Taurus sits in front of your day scope on a Taurus clip adaptor sized to your objective, adds its thermal image at true 1×, and hands the picture straight through your existing glass. Your day-scope reticle does the aiming; your zero is untouched. Take it off in the morning and you're back to a normal day rifle in seconds.

Pixfra Taurus — common questions

A clip-on is a thermal front attachment. Instead of replacing your riflescope, the Taurus mounts on the objective (front) of your existing day scope using a Taurus clip adaptor. It adds its thermal image at a true 1× magnification and passes it straight through your day scope, so you aim with the reticle you already know. By day you remove it and run your scope as normal; after dark you clip it on and the same rifle sees heat.
Yes — that is the whole point of a clip-on. Because the Taurus works at true 1× ahead of your day scope, your magnification, your reticle and your zero are unchanged. You aim with your day-scope reticle exactly as you do in daylight; the Taurus simply lets you see the target in the dark. The Taurus clamps to your scope's front objective using a Taurus clip adaptor, and it's designed for standard day scopes up to 10×. You choose the adaptor to match your scope's outside objective diameter — sizes run from 45 mm through 69 mm. Measure the outside diameter of your scope's objective bell and pick the matching adaptor; it's listed separately so you get the exact fit.

The 1,800 m detection figure is the distance at which the sensor can register a large warm target under good conditions — a benchmark for comparing sensors, not a shooting distance. Identification happens far closer, and your ethical shooting range is set by your rifle, your load and the law. On the T635-LRF the 1,000 m laser rangefinder is what you actually use to confirm distance before a shot.
